DofE at Rickmansworth School

At Rickmansworth, we are pleased to be offering students the opportunity to start their Bronze, Silver and are in the planning stages to offer the Gold DofE Award.

The Bronze Award is open to Year 9 students and we currently offer 72 Spaces. The course is run from September where students attend classes after School following the DofE syllabus which include topics like navigation, first aid and camp craft. The students then undertake two overnight expeditions usually one in May and one in July to complete the course. Students are requested to complete an application to be considered for a place on this award. The expedition at this level is run by fully trained and experienced School staff

The Silver Award is currently open to years 10 and 12 which also runs from September but the final expedition is the following year in September. The expeditions are currently held in the New Forest and South Wales. These are 3 days and 2 nights long.
